LHS BAND ASSOCIATION
Welcome to Langley Band!
All parents and guardians of Langley band and color guard students are automatically members of the LHS Band Association.
The LHS Band Department and LHS Band Association invite you to get involved with the band! There are volunteer opportunities to fit every type of interest and level of time involvement. You’ll enjoy meeting other band parents and will have great experiences and memories helping the band and seeing your student in this activity. (You won’t believe how fast their four years in Langley band fly by!)
Parents volunteer to help with marching band camp; uniform ordering and fitting; and loading/transport of equipment, uniforms and percussion instruments on Friday game nights and to Saturday competitions. Parent volunteers coordinate band camp lunches/dinners, football game night pizza, fall Senior Night activities and the End-of-Year banquet.
At several times throughout the year, parent volunteers send informational emails to all band parents, coordinate band spirit wear purchases, create and email Sign-Up Geniuses regarding volunteer needs/opportunities, take and post band photographs and videos on our Facebook and Shutterfly accounts, craft Langley eNews and other local news pieces, and solicit business sponsors for our 5K fundraiser held each April. Parent volunteers also create the Senior Book (distributed at the EOY Banquet), design flyers and posters for events like Back-to-School days/emails, our Tag Day and the Bands on the Run 5K. Parents also maintain this website!
Each year, lead volunteers coordinate these efforts (and send out Sign-Up Geniuses for an event's additional needed volunteers). Interested in leading an effort next year? Let us know! Mention it at a volunteer activity or email the band director or band association!
The LHS Band Association raises funds through Tag Day, the Bands on the Run 5K, and donations all year long through the LHS Band Association to help the Langley band program purchase music, instruments, sectional instruction, uniforms, equipment, and registration and transportation to competitions and events.
The LHS Band Association is a 501(c)3 organization, and all donations are fully tax-deductible. The organization’s tax ID number is 54-1438588.
The Board of Officers consists of a president, vice-presidents, treasurer, secretary and a representative from each grade. Officers for the next year are elected, typically at the End-of-Year Banquet.
