TAG DAY is Saturday, September 7, 2024!
Tag Day is the Langley High School band program’s largest fundraiser of the year.
On Tag Day, Langley High School band and color guard members work in teams to knock on doors of homes in our Great Falls and McLean boundary area and stand near entrances of selected local businesses, asking for support for the band program.
It is called Tag Day because if a neighbor is not home, members leave an informational tag on the door.
The tag explains that FCPS funding does not include items such as marching band and color guard uniforms, instrument and equipment, transportation to competitions, or sectionals instructors. It invites the public to its performances and provides information about how to donate.
Parent drivers are critical to the success of Tag Day! Each year, over 30 band parents are needed to volunteer to use their car/SUV to drive the teams of students. The band program has established maps and routes/areas that the drivers use. Other parents chaperone students at selected storefronts in the Great Falls and McLean business area.
We greatly appreciate the band parents who volunteer to drive, and the generous donations of the Great Falls and McLean community on Tag Day!
Schedule for Tag Day Saturday 9/7/2024:
8:30 am – Students and parent volunteer drivers report to the Langley cafeteria
8:45 am – Mandatory orientation for students and drivers
9:15 am – Groups leave Langley to begin their routes
